Kate Chopin's story is a bit longer. Again, there is
no disruption of the cueing systems and still there's
something about the story that forced me to reread it
several times.
Read the story. Make note of where your expectations
aren't confirmed. What did you do at those junctures?
What questions, insights, etc. about your own reading
strategies has this activity afforded you?
How does this activity help you think about your students'
reading differently?
