THE PALI

Several years ago I saw a pali for the first time. Pali is a Hawaiian word, but everyone in the island state uses it. The first pali I saw was very high. It was a pali near Honolulu which has great historical significance.

People in Honolulu call it simply, "the Pali." On this pali, the first King Kamehameha trapped the army of Oahu and drove his enemies off the Pali to their deaths.

The winds blows so strongly up the face of the Pali that you can hardly approach the edge.
